| | | Jornada 720 Screen New member. Forgive me if I've not yet learned your protocols. Have a problem with Jornada 720, recently bought off ebay. the screen calibration seems to go out of whack all the time. I click here and activate the screen over .......... here.
I recalibrate and it's fine. for a bit. then its back to (ab)normal. have also tried soft reset, with same result. am I missing something simple? or have I bought a pup?
all help and advice gratefully received. (meanwhile, I'll drive it from the keyboard) |

| | Welcome to our forums.
Sounds like it's shot. Try a hard reset and see if it's still the same after that. |

| | | Did a hard reset last night and, so far so good, the screen is behaving - better than before, in fact. Fingers crossed. Now all I have to do is to sort out how to restore from the back up that I took. ActiveSync does not seem very keen to recognise it, but it was late and I was getting stressed. Try again this evening.
Thanks for your help!! |

| | Great...you need to log on as a guest to restore the backup. |

| | | Thanks, Charlie. I saw that it said that in the instructions. thought it a bit odd but, can see that it would avoid inappropriate sync-ing and I tried it anyway. I'll put my (temporary) lack of success down to the lateness of the hour and try again later.
Thanks for the advice. You really know your PDAs! |

| | | Charlie. An update. 4 weeks later and everything looks ok. But I've got another question and could not remember how to start a new post, so forgive me for tagging on the end of this one. I have reminders in Calendar that don't ring, flash or display a message, even though that's what is set. World Clock alarms ring fine. In fact, it SEEMS to be the case that I need to have a World Clock alarm set for the calendar alarms to ring. Is this possible? Or is there some other way that I'm inadvertantly switching off the calendar alarms? |

| | Sorry Barrie, you've lost me on this one as I don't use the calender much. Can anyone else offer some advice? |

| | | A further update. I set up a test with and without a world clock alarm in the background and it makes no difference. The calendar alarm does not ring, nor does the world clock alarm. But I know the sound as a whole is not goosed, 'cos it rings etc when I'm selecting the alarm sound I want. Any ideas??? |

| | Has this only occurred recently or has it always been like this? |

| | | I hate to be vague, but I'm sure it used to ring. I remember 2 or 3 weeks ago getting reminders to do stuff, but I'm blowed if I can offer any clue what happened in the interim. Do you have anything to suggest? (Am off on hols soon, so forgive me if I go quiet for a while) | |
