Exclamation Ipaq is not reading the cf card!!!

I have a Compaq Ipaq 3630 and have recently purchased a cf card 512mb and a card reader. I transfer music to the card thro the reader which is fine, my problem is when I open up media player on the pda the music is not there. if I transfer direct to the pda thru the cradle its fine so do I have to open it a different way because its on the card and not the pda direct?

Welcome to our forums.
Thats strange...when you open Media Player and tap on SELECT in the bottom left hand corner are you viewing the Local Contect folder?

When I open media player there is no option to tap SELECT, I have TOOLS or PLAYLIST. When I look at the file on the cf card on my desktop computer, the file is there in a media player format, when I look at the card on my pda the file is there but the format/symbol is a white background with a music note on it, it doesn't look like the right format, when you tap it it takes you to media player but then its not there.

i have just transfered a 'Word' document and that is there so it does seem to be a media player problem.

You might be transferring files with too high a bitrate. Check what bitrate they are on your PC.

Thanks Charlie, but being a bit of a novice, how do I do that?

It should tell you the bitrate where it shows you the name when the file is playing....should alternate between artist/title and bitrate.
