Default Hard reset!!

I bought a HP 4150 with TomTom Nav 3 pre installed and with the maps stored on an SD card! i was thinking of updating to the latest BIOS but am concerned as to whether when i perform the hard reset required after BIOS installation ill lose the TomTom software.

Is there any way i can save the software on the SD card and remove it from the unit whilst i do the ROM Flash?

Thanks!

Basically...no. The ROM upgrade will change the way the operatign system on the iPAQ works meaning the "backup" of TomTom you make will not work with it. To be honest it will take you all of 5 mintues to reinstall TomTom after you perform the ROM update as you don't need to reinstall the maps because they should already be on your SD card and will not be affected during the update.

Well you can try to do a backup through activesync before you update the ROM but I'm pretty sure you will not be able to restore it afterwards but you could try. No other way I know of.
