Default Invisible Main Battery in 2210

My new fully charged iPaq was working fine then died. I powered on and it died again after 10-20 seconds and kept doing this. No main battery bar in settings but backup showed 100%. No charge light on cradle either. Which meant I just had AC Only instead of Main BAttery in settings.

HP reckon duff battery even though it has 3.7v and are sending a new one. Anyone else had this or any thoughts?

Never seen a dead battery occur on a 2210. Have you tried charging it on the cradle (the battery itself) in case theres a problem with the iPAQs chargin circuit?

I have had this, but the battery was not in the back of the PDA :-( doh. Can you double check, sorry for the dumb suggestion but you never know.

You think I'm stupid?

Wait, I am stupid but no it wasn't that. My guess was the charging circuit as well as the battery appears to charge up seperatly in the cradle and I suggested that to HP but their techie(?) guy was confident that it was the battery. Along the lines of "It can be charged but there is some circuitry in the battery and it looks ike this has failed" I have ordered a spare battery form MDS and should have this tomorrow I'll put in in and see

UPS pick up the duff battery tomorrow as well . Let you know.....

Problem with the iPAQs internal charging circuit then in my opinion. See how you go with the new one.

It WAS the battery. New one arrived from MDS plugged it in and it charged to full in 2 hours and, yep, battery bar is back and amber light is on. Would have put money on it being the iPaq but there you go! One to file away for the future...
