Default Music on Pocket PC

I have an Acer N30 with a 1gb SD card.

Can anyone advise me what are the optimal settings to use when ripping music to transfer to the Pocket PC. Small size / good quality.

Not that experienced using Windows Media player 10 on my PC but by trial and error worked it out. However I am confused as to which format and compression I should use for optimal results?

Obviously I would like to have as many tracks as possible on my PPC but not if the quality is noticably reduced.

Also which is the best player to use. The Acer N30 comes with Media Player 9. While I have got this working so that it list all tracks on the card. It is not easy to select a single album to play seems to be a question of scrolling down all tracks on the card and trying to identify which one I want.

I usually encode to 128kb and I still use Media Player.

Thanks Charlie, just one more question - do you use WMA or MP3 format - does it make a difference?

If I remember right wma makes it smaller, but still quality is almost the same. If WMA-support is available I would use it.

Or Charlie?
