'Acer n30/activesync/Garmin mapsource'

Ive just purchased an Acer n30 and cant get my head round the activesync procedure! I want to copy Garmin mapsource software onto the pocket pc but cant seem to do it and the destructions are no help to an old technophobe!! I'm not sure if the software is not compatible or Im just doing it wrong! Ive tried removing and reinstalling the Mapsource from the laptop then reinstalling it with the n30 connected and it reloads onto the laptop ok but the n30 doesnt do anything.HELP!!!
A simple guide to using the active sync would be appreciated - has anyone else managed to install Mapsource European Roads and recreation on the n30? I am hoping eventually to use memory map software - has anyone else used it on the n30? There is nothing else plugged in to the laptop and I have read elswhere that the McAfee antivirus may cause conflict.

Welcome to our forums.
Activesync is simply a program that allows the PC and the PocketPC to communicate. When a connection is established between the two you should be able to run the setup file/program for the application which will install to the PocketPC.

I can't cay I've ever used Mapsource so I don't know what it's installation procedure is but I found a tutorial @ http://www.garmin.com/cartography/ma...eTutorial.html . Hope it helps.

I have now discovered that the Garmin Mapsource software is not compatible and have purchased Memory Map software and a bluetooth GPS receiver which works VERY well.
