Cool jackets

hello, fairly new to this gps stuff ,just bought a mio 168 ( not been delivered yet but thats another story ) have noticed that JACKETS are mentioned alot when talking about ipaq ,could anyone explain to me wot it means !!!!

A jacket is an addon for a Compaq/HP iPAQ in the 3XXX & 5XXX model range which can add extra features such as CF readers and extended batteries.
