Red face Dead Battery?

My IPAQ 2210 is dead as a dodo. Wont reset hard or soft. Nothing when I plug it into the cradle. Coming up as unrecognised USB connection. Left Compact Flash card in with Pocket PC turned off, but looking at HP website that can drain the battery. Not wanting to spend out on new battery and find that isnt the problem. Can anybody give me a clue as to whether I am correct in thinking I need to replace my battery? Many thanks Joe

Sounds like the same problem I have with my 5550. I phoned HP technical support for help/repair but despite telling them three times that trying to charge the battery made absolutely no difference they still told me to charge it for 30 minutes. I have done this on my desk top cradle and two different in car chargers to no avail. Resetting doesn't seem to make any difference. I need my iPAQ for work, I'm a self employed courier and I have TomTom Navigator on it so if anyone knows the answer please let me know,

Welcome to both of you.
Try connecting the AC directly to your iPAQs and then press the reset button repeatedley. It may help.

HP kept going on about the AC but if I have one I don't know it. What does it look like? (stupid question I know).

Then your AC adapter should be plugged into your desktop cradle as the cradle alone won't charge your iPAQ. There was a dongle in the box with your iPAQ that allows you connect the AC adapter directly to the bottom of the iPAQ. Try this out.
