Thanks for Charlie and a request re calendar software!

Hi Charlie,

Firstly a HUGE thanks for all your help/tips and advice given on this forum.. it's been a real help

Now my request for help... Have been looking to upgrade from my beloved PSION 5MX and decided on Pocket PC over the Palms.... then settled on the IPAQ family. But now am totally bamboozled by all the models and specs! HELP, my brain aches!
Initially I liked the 4150 having seen a friend's, particularly liked the light weight, but found that although you can still get hold of it, it has the older version of Win Mob 2003 and has been discontinued, and I hate buying old hat technology (just call me a gadget snob!) So then I turned to the 3715 which looks like it has everything I need, but I HATE that camera! I don't need it and resent paying more money for it. So my question is... is there a model with same/similar spec (but no camera!) for similar dosh? and if so, what are the differences? I know the 4700 is one up but it's a little steep in the price dept for me and anyway i've heard it has a problem with hard resets (i.e it keeps needing them) which put me right off... If there isn't an equal I shall probably end up with the 3715 but would appreciate your help...
Also I LOVE the 'AGENDA' in my 5mx and have found MS OUTLOOK to be a poor cousin... Do you know of any calendar software for the IPAQ that is similar to PSION's AGENDA in display and tools? e.g. 7 day display with visible appointments (not just symbols) and tools including reminders, alarms, item repeats and to do's/anniversary views etc (I don't ask for much, do I?!)

Welcome to our forums and thanks for your feedback.
Unfortunaltey there is nothing like the 3715 without the camera (for the same price) so I would recommend spending the extra cash on a 4700 or the 2750. The 2750 comes in a bit cheaper than the 4700 but not much. As for calender functions I'm probably not the best person to ask as I'm the most unorganised person I know and I don't use the calender on my PDA. As a thought though you could visit www.tucows.com and search their PDA section for freeware programs to try out. Good luck with which ever model you decide on, I'm sure you'll be delighted with it.

I don't know if it's similar to Agenda, but I use Pocket Informant 5 - so many options I can't begin to list. One of its best features is the Search option, which can look at calendar, contacts and tasks.

The 4700 has more RAM/ROM...CPU speeds are the same but the 2750 has a bit more battery life.

Have now bought and been using Pocket Informant... It's FANTASTIC and just as good as the PSION agenda (better too in many ways!) Thanks again for the info.
