Angry HELP - HP 5450 wont come on

Just got hold of my secondhand HP 5450

Have had it in the docking cradle now for around 3 hours... also plugged the usb lead into my laptop (in case that would make any difference) and the power adaptor is plugged into the base of the cradle which is the only way I have of connecting the power adaptor to the Ipaq

Charging led has not flashed or come on at any point, and tried switching the unit on but nothing, dead as a dodo it would appear

Any help suggestions other than lobbing it into the nearest dustbin appreciated

would a hard / soft reset have any affect or maybe just a hard whack around the head with a meaty baseball bat to the guy who sold it to me on Ebay

In anticipation

I've had this problem twice with my Ipaq now. Both times it's come alive after fiddling with the microswitch in the battery bay (at the botton of the bay) and gently wiping my nail over the battery spring contacts in the bay. I don't know if it's a dodgy microswitch or the contact have oxidised or something but it's worked both times! Then again it might be a coincidence with the battery faining enough charge to run the thing

your PDA is known to have a bug, if both batteries are dead you need to attach to AC adapter (not cradle) then soft reset about 30times and the PDA should boot back up
