Default Newbie Advice on XDA IIi & GPS

Hi,

I am seriously think about placing an order for a o2 XDA IIi - which I beleive is the newest one.

Any one have any views on them, likes, dislikes etc?

I really want this primaraly for in-car Sat Nav use with TomTom, but also need the feature of the Mobile Phone too.

I have a few questions if anyone can answer.....

1. Is the Holux Powered GPS PDA Mount any good as a "all in one" solution for the XDA IIi?

2. Does the GPS work ok with Heated Windscreens? I have a Snooper GPS which has no problems (car is a 2001 Ford Mondeo Ghia X)

3. If I opt for the Bluetooth GPS receiver instead of the above mentioned Holux kit - can I use this and a Bluetooth headset at the same time?

Thanks in advance

Charlie

Hi Charlie,

I recently upgraded from XDA II to XDA IIi as I wanted the WiFi feature. I use TomTom 3 Bluetooth for navigation and Bluetooth Headset while driving at the same time with no problem.

One minor glitch is that after receiving or making a call, you need to tap the x in the top right corner to get the nav screen back up. This is no biggie on the motorway, but annoying in town.

Making a call (when parked of course officer) is simple, push the green phone button and up comes your keypad with Nav in the background..

I dont know the mount you mention, I use the TomTom charge kit as it gives me power to the XDA IIi and the Bluetooth GPS at the same time.
