Question unable to sync a SPV M1000

I have bought an XDA SPV M1000 and i am having problems syncing with activesync and bluetooth to my main PC. It did work once but as usual with anything new i tinkered with it and now it does not sync at all. I have deleted the partnership and can not creat a new partnership. Uninstall and re-installed loads of time also rebooted the PC and XDA. I have spent so far 2 weeks trying to get it to work but still no joy. Does anybody have any ideas?
Many thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi ,

In active sync, click file, connection settings, check the top box, allow serial and ir connection, then select the com port you use for bluetooth. You may have to uncheck the usb option.

If you do that you will lose anything you have installed on to it from new. Do you have any antivirus or firewall software on your PC? Those can block connections.
