Exclamation Toshiba E740 BT Power Problems

hi there,

i recently purchaced a second hand e740 - i say second hand everything in the box was still sealed including the unit itself, when i purchaced it i was informed that it would probably need a new battery because it had been sat for 2 years un-used. i purchaced a brand new battery, plugged it in and charged it to 100%, then removed it from the power cable and all was good - an hour or 2 later after having it in the cradle i removed it and the second that it was disconnected from the mains power the unit shuts down - loosing all the data as if the battery was not there. i then tried to charge the original battery but that is getting stuck at a constant 1%. i was wondering if anyone knew what this problem might be and might have a way to solve it - i have checked everything i can think off - and no the hard reset switch is in the correct possition. this problem is also present when the mains cable is plugged directly into the unit it is litterally the second it is disconnected from the power it turns off and will not come back on. PLEASE HELP!!!

Thankyou Very Much, James

Welcome to our forums.
It is possible that your new battery is faulty if this is happening. Are you able to return the battery you bought for exchange? Otherwise it may just be a faulty PDA.
