client server opening local applications

Hi all

I am a new developer and I am having some problems. I am not even sure if this is possible.

I have a client server set up with a XP machine as the server. I am using a Pocket PC as the Client. The problem I am having is opening a local application that is on the client(PDA) by a command from the server. Would anyone know if this is possible. I am not able to save the file on the server and open it this way, for i have already tried this. I am using JSP for the development of the rest of the program, but willing to use whatever works.

An example one of the programs which I am trying to open is Outlook mail on the client side.

I don't think it's possible...at least not in any way I'm familiar with.
