Angry activesync problems

When i hook up my pda to the activesync 3.8, it says connected on the computer and device, but you are not able to click on the sync button on the computer and the sync button on the device. So i reinstall activesync and it works for about 10 minutes until it once again goes back to the state it was before. What is the matter plz help thanks
