New to PDA's need some advice

I just bought a PDA, it's a Toshiba Pocket PC E570. I want to work on things on my computer then download it to the PDA, for example I have excel on the PDA and I want to create a inventory of my DVD's to keep on my PDa. It will be much easier to do it on my computer and then transfer it to the PDA.

Is there any beginer sites that show how to do these basic things with your PDA??
