Trip Mate running help please!

Thought I had found the application of my dreams to enable me to plan, cost and claim miles travelled called 'Trip Mate' but on installation on my PDA2K I get a warning that I must have SQL Sever CE 2.0, .NET Compact Framework 1.0 and .NET Compact Framework 1.0 SP2 installed for this programme to operate. The blurb claims these are easily downloadable from Microsoft, 12 hours later and after downloading 400 megabyte plus I'm none the wiser. Surely these developers want to sell their programmes so why make it so obscure in getting these aplets. I assumed they would just be a simple small add-on to install but as ever with Microsoft nothing is straight forward. I'm unable to contact the writers so hope somebody out there can advise me. Help with this would be very much appreciated.
