PDA advice and looking for Xda Mini

I'm pretty new at all this but I have decided that the handset that appeals the most is the HTC magician.

However....

I am sufficiently snobby that I'd prefer the O2 Xda Mini version of it to the other versions (Imate Jam, Qtek 100 etc), but the problem is I can't find any for sale here in the UK.

I also think they look better in black but so far only the Qtek 110 seems to be available here. Does anyone know what versions are due to be released in the next few months?

I'd also like to know how PDA email and web usage is paid for. I'm hoping you pay on more of a pay-as-you basis than a monthly fee?

Can I use these PDA abroad, assuming I go ahead with my plan to have a vodaphone tarrif? Do I need to change anything before leaving the country and are the call charges likely to be extortionate?
