Default Typhoon Problem

Hi there,

Ive got a typhoon but im having problems with it...

when I plug it in to charge, it resets itself...
I have to go through the windows setup every time...
Once thats done, as its charging, there is no icon in the nav bar saying if the battery is charging/charged/empty...
When i disconnect the charger, it crashes - i cant even press the power button or reset button to get it out of the crash... I either have to turn it off then on from the back, or i need to plug in the charger again - which then goes into the windows setup bit... is my Pocket PC totally screwed??

Hi Crafty!

I had a similar problem with my Typhoon if I didn't use the PDA cradle for charging.
This happened several times when I used the combined data / charging to usb cable that came with my PDA for using with the GPS software.
I came to the conclusion that the plug on this cable was not always connecting properly.
I now use the cradle for charging - and strangely enough, the data cable works fine in my car for the GPS.
So to cut a long story short, it may just be a bad connection on your charging lead or cradle.
My PDA wasn't screwed.
Hope this helps

Hi there,

Thanks for the advice... I havent got a cradle for mine!?!? Only a car charger and a mains charger (the combined data/charger cable thing as you said)... With the car charger, the connection has always been hopeless. the plug would never stay in so i had to hold it in with a bit of sticky tape... but I get the same problem with whatever charger I use... Car or Mains... Can you tell me more about the cradle? where can i buy one?
Its actually only 8months old so Im gonna try and take it back first... if not Ill have to try something else...
