2210 bluetooth/gprs help please!

[font=Arial]Any assistance will be very much appreciated as I am slowly being driven mad by an assortment of customer service representatives who are frankly not able to deliver. The problem is this ........

I have recently decided to confine the filofax to the desk drawer and have become a dedicated pda user. I use an ipaq 2210 which I have been very impressed with since I first used it. I was also given a Nokia 6600 for christmas which I have paired to the pda using its bluetooth capabilities. My mobile phone is on O2 contract and is fully enabled for both gprs/mobile web facilities. Everything fine so far.....

I decided to make use of the bluetooth connection to allow me to access web pages/email etc on the 2210 and to do this downloaded and installed the O2 mobile web package.

However try as I might I cannot get anybody to give me a list of the relevant settings required to make the service work. The documentation on the website relates to ppc2002 and does not appear to have been updated for atleast 18 months.

Can anyone give me a list of the settings required to make the service work, perhaps somebody who is already using it?

Alternatively is there anybody who could recommend an alternative service again utilising the mobile's gprs capabilities?

Any help much appreciated....

You should just need to go into the bluetooth manager on your 2210, go to 'connect to the internet', 'connect via dialup...' and then select your mobile.

Spike jamessampson is right about checking that web page, i have 02 on t610 and it works fine. I set the phone to dial *99# and change the dialing properties to G

Hi Guys

Thanks for the info so far. The settings listed on the links are similar to the ones I already had. Except for the port numbers.

The service settings for GPRS were sent to me by o2 and they list the port number as 8080 and not 9201 as shown on the links.

I think the problem must be down to the operator. I am putting two sets of information into the system (one set for the 6600 to access the o2 gprs service - which currently works fine and the other into the pda which gives a different set of information) however the GPRS connection is obviously made via the phone, does this matter?

I have been getting various warnings popping up on the pda - the most regular one beind - "disconnected - RAS error" - any further ideas gratefully received.

I am now totally confused and apologies if I am being particularly dim here.

Stevie, are you using pay-and-go or contract? Infrared or Bluetooth?

I've got a Nokia 6610 with only infrared and can get WAP to work but not GPRS (using o2 pay-and-go). All the settings are correct according to the filesaveas site.

I get the error message - "cannot connect for an unknown reason..."

The dialing number is shown as +1 (425) *99# if I change the dialing code to 'G'. Without using the dialing codes, the number is just *99#. Is this right?

remove the area code etc so you just have *99# and i use bluetooth and GPRS contract

Thanks - I've done all of that but it refuses to connect via gprs and infrared. Maybe pay-and-go doesn't support gprs - atleast not over infrared (?)

I'll have to try it on my Dad's 6310i (on contract)!

Another question, is o2 MobileWeb required for this service?

Have checked and double checked all the settings and all appear to be correct however still have no joy at connecting.

When I try to connect it starts to initialise the bluetooth/gprs connection and then disconnects with the warning "disconnected due to RAS error".

Does this ring any bells with anyone?

Try going into the connections settings, and selecting your settings (under 'manage existing connections'), then tap and hold on your settings and click connect (make sure your 6600's bluetooth is on) rather than going to internet explorer and connecting through there (I'm assuming thats what you've been doing so far). Is that when you get RAS error? Are any error numbers shown?

Have you tried connecting via infrared or with standard WAP (not GPRS)? I'd give that a go first.

Personally, I can't get my GPRS connection to work, though normal WAP works fine both with bluetooth and infrared.

Well frustrated sums it up nicely. I spent a good hour and a half on the phone to Orange in order to try to get my H2210 sorted with bluetooth. The first time we set up the internet it worked no problem. However when I mentioned that I wanted my freeserve account on my PDA through Bluetooth it all fell to bits. No longer could I connect to the internet and get my email was just a no go. Always coming up with "could not connect to server."
I know my bluetooth is talking to my 6600 as the phone is asking if it wants to connect to which I reply yes. However the pda will just not connect at all. It is really frustrating as the phone is good, the pda is brill but when together I may as well have a pen and paper for as much use as they are.
Can someone please help me????????
