Default problem viewing excel csv files on mio 168

Hope someone can help me out here! I have some database excel files that are .csv and I'd like to put them onto my mitac mio 168. Trouble is, when I try to view them on it, nothing happens. They show up on the mio when I use 'file explorer' but when I try to open them from that, I get a message telling me to open the pocket excel program and then view the files from there. If I open pocket excel and try to view the files from there, they just don't show up. Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks in advance for your time.
