Default Ipaq 2210 freezing

Don't know if anyone can help.

My 2210 Ipaq has started to freeze and lock up. Doesn't matter what I press I can't get it to repsond. More worrying though is that when I do a soft reset it actually does a hard reset, even though I just put the stylus on the reset button at the back.

Any ideas what I can do to rectify it?

Check to see how many programs are running and stop them all [start-settings-'system'- click on Memory then 'running programs'] Select the program to stop or simply press stop all.

Not sure why the soft reset is instigating a full reset. Have you updated to ROM version 1.10? if not download it from the HP site and update. If you don't know which you have then look at the number at the bottom right of the screen when you do a reset. Of course save a backup first.

Mike,

I usually stop all programs whenever i turn off so it shouldn't be that.

I'll check on the ROM version and try that.

Cheers

You might also want to try a full reset yourself. It could be that something hasn't fully reset and is still trying to complete. Give that a go first but remember to let the screen fade out fully before letting go of the buttons and pressing the reset button again.

It will be worth updating the ROM in any case, mine has improved greatly since. The ROM update ends with a full reset as well.

That's good. I only recently discovered the ROM update myself and it's like having a new PDA. Much faster etc.

You should also check out the other updates on the HP site. The SD re-naming option is good as is the power saving add on, plus I have updated the Bluetooth driver and security sofpaqs.
