Active Sync 3.8 - 4.1

I am considering buying a PDA for my wife but have a query with regards to ActiveSync.

I currently own a 2210 which uses ActiveSync 3.8. If I buy my wife a new PDA it seems quite likely that it will use ActiveSync 4.1:

can I install both version on my base PC?
If I can't install both, will my 2210 still sync using 4.1?

You can't have both installed, in fact 4 will overwrite 3.8 when you install it. Your 2210 will work fine with 4.

Some people seem to suggest 4.x won't work with PPC 2002, yet using 4.1 just fine on my X5 with PPC2002.

IIRC though, 2002 is the earliest that will work with active sync 100% (the old 5yr 'software lifespan' industry practice)
