Default Calnot issues

Since installing Windows 2003 SE on my Acer N30 PPC I have been experiencing problems most of the time after CALNOT has run.

If I leave PPC on charger overnight when CALNOT due to run, when I try and switch on in the morning, I am faced with a black screen and can not turn PPC on. I have to soft reset and then see normal startup.

If I don't leave on charger when CALNOT due then when I switch PPC on I am faced with a completely flat battery and a hard reset.

CALNOT runs once per week or so.

I would appreciate any advice as to what might be causing this problem and how I can resolve it.
