I'm totally new to windows mobile pdas. Could someone tell me whether windows mobile 5.0 is a later edition than windows mobile 2003. I'm unsure which apps my mobile 5.0 will support...

Depends.

Some don't work, or need patching. Which aps in particular would you like to know about - ref compatability?
