Default Ipaq not syncing

I bought a Compaq Ipaq 3760 (new) about 9 months ago from www.totalpda.co.uk.
Now it won't sit in the cradle correctly, so will randomly come on, try to establish a connection, lose the connection, stop charging, and various other things without being touched.
If left for a few days, then it will stop charging after about 6 hours and then gradually go flat, causing it to hard-reset itself.
I can't use the 'Belkin Sync-and-charge' USB cable I have as it doesn't detect the device OR charge through it, although the cable works fine with my friend's 3660, and used to work fine with mine.
Also, the device no longer appears in 'Windows Media Player's 'Copy to Device' dialog.
If you can help me solve any of these problems I would appreciate it, as previous attempts to contact both www.totalpda.co.uk and compaq about these have been met with silence.

OK, its been a week with no answer, I guess there's no easy fix.
Can someone tell me how to claim under the 1 year guarantee I supposedly got with my pocket pc when I bought it?
Not being able to transfer data to/from the pc is a big problem.

OK, now it's started to randomly corrupt my compact flash cards, requiring for them to be re-formatted every so often.
When I bought my Pocket Pc the site said I got a 1 year guarantee, so how do I claim under it?
Neither www.totalpda.co.uk nor Compaq/HP have answered my emails.

From the Terms and conditions (link at very bottom of page):

Returns Policy
Unless otherwise documented on the invoice Total PDA will cover any second-user or refurbished items with a seven day repair or replace warranty and all new goods will be covered with a one year return to base warranty, both warranties are valid from date of invoice.

It seems my warranty is with www.totalpda.co.uk. I thought it was. Pity I've got to make a phone call, phone boxes are too expensive for this. (I have no phone, or phone line, being a poor student now)

"Faulty goods can be returned inder our RMA procedure within 30 days of purchase. The manufacturer is responsible for the warranty thereafter."
Oh well, looks like I have to ring Compaq.
I just posted this for anyone else who is in this situation.
