Dell X30 help please

Hi all,

I have just bought a second hand Dell X30 and I am experiencing problems which I hope you can help with. I am attempting to connect the device to my PC so that I can add programs etc. I followed the manual and installed Activesync to my PC. I then connected the PDA Hub via the USB and inserted the PDA into the hub.

When I try and run activesync I get a message saying device not found. At the same time Windows keeps giving a message saying new USB device found, and asking for me to search for drivers. What am I doing wrong? Please help before I do something I might regret with my lovely new PDA
