Default Student PDA -

Hi - Im a student just about to go into my 4th year at uni - doing IT.

With dissertations, projects etc awaiting me, I am considering looking into a PDA to help manage my studies.

I would be using it for recording meeting dates etc, notes, transferring word files to/from uni & computer at home, and maybe music too.

ANy ideas? Cos I don't have a scoobie - max £150!

Thanks.
Stuart

These would do what you are looking for.

The 1950 has the most up to date software so word and excel are a better but all of them will cover the basics you need.

All you would need would be one of these and a memory card for storage.

Thanks for the reply - The 1950 looks damn good. Maybe a bit on the expensive side, def if buying new.

How are the refurbished PDA's?

We've always sold loads of them with no problems. They come with the same accessories and same warrenty as a brand new one. 12 months from HP themselves as it HP who refurbish them.

It would save you a bit of cash as they are £182 new.

Stu8866, also have a look at the Mio P350, around £180. It will do all you want.

Sync to your Desktop and updated files on either will automatically sync with the other and update both.

The letter/block recogniser is pretty nifty, you write on screen and it converts to text.

It has a 400MHz processor and Windows Mobile 5.

It also has a built in GPS receiver, should you want to add GPS Software and maps at a later date.

You'd need to add a Secure Digital Card for .mp3, pictures etc but good quality 512MB cards are around for less than £12, or you could go for a 1GB at around £24. There are cheaper cards but it's often false economy.

Good luck with your choice and your studies.

Kool - thanks guys!

All these PDA's seem good - dont really want to spend over 150. What exactly is a refurbished PDA - 2nd hand?

Normally a refurbished device has been returned under warranty. It's stripped down, retested and repaired (if required).

They will have 12 months warranty again, and will be in as new condition.
