Hand Held Total INternet PDA/computer

I just can't find the answer I a looking for by going to the sites or to bestbuy.

What I am looking for is a handheld device that I can use the same way as my home pc. I won't to be able to pull up any internet site at any time is that possible? Is there such a thing?

I don't have a clue if I can connect to the internet through cingular or verizon. How could I do that?
