Question Voice Recordings

Hi,

I have an Acer N50 Premium, which I want to use to record conversations on.
The sound quality doesn't need to be great, so the sample rate can be quite low.

I've tried using the notes software to record a conversation, however, it only records for 1 minute then stops.

Is there any way I can record for longer periods? Ideally 1 - 2 hours.

Thanks

Cartboy

In the recorder settings, you should be able to specify the mem card as the path to record to.

No probs. You can mess with the quality too, but a 1gb card should give you hours of recording time.

I have a QTEK 2020i, I want to be able to record all converstaions automatically.
Does anyone know of any software that does this?
The software that come with the QTEK is rubbish, it has to be manually activated and only records me and not the caller.

Recording of calls would normally have an app, but it will bleep every so often to comply with legal requirements.

Curious as to why you want to record every single call. Either very forgetful, or not trusting of your friends and colleagues.

If it's for any reason which could be used legally, then the caller must be made aware recording is taking place, otherwise you could be prossecuted under data protection laws. See http://www.informationcommissioner.gov.uk/ for the legal guidance docs.

Well, unless you advise your bank, you can only use the recordings to make notes. Too detailed, and you fall foul of DPA I'm afraid - and as such any evidence would be in admissable in a court.

Been there, done that (employement tribuneral).

Hi again,

I've changed the path to record to the CF card, which is a 4GB card.
However, it records for about 1 hour at 22kHz, then stops saying memory is critically low. The file is only around 115MB though, with loadsof room left on the card - over 3000MB.

Is it that the device records to the internal memory 1st, then transfers the file to the CF card at the end of the recording? I have around 115MB of free space in the internal memory.

If that is the case, is there any way of recording straight to the CF card?

Cheers

Cartboy.
