Question Mio 168 turns off after 3 seconds

Short post to start the thread...

on external power, the mio 168 works perfectly. when I disconnect external power after 3 seconds the device goes into its sleep mode.

when I reconnect external power it wakes up again just as I left it... all apps running etc so it hasn't reset or run out of power (battery is fully charged).

any ideas? Anyone else seen this?

help please!

Dave

Look under you battery settings. Looks like you have the option "turn device off when idle for" to 3 secs.

Could it simply be the backlight getting switched off, and not the device? If so check that setting.

I got the same problem with my Mio P350
It turns the screen off after about 6-8sek

It's not turning the power off... just the screen so I have to tab it to wake it up
I've been true all the setings and can't find where I should change that option
It's pretty annoying when using word and excel
The only program it doesn't do it in is tomtom

(sorry for my bad english )

Start - Settings - System.

Backlight. On Battery Power. Un-tick Turn backlight off when device not used for XX minutes.

If there is no improvement

Start - Settings - System.

Power - Advanced. On Battery Power. Un-tick Turn of device if not used for XX minutes.

One or other, or both actions, of the above should cure your problem.
