Default Help - I'm having a nightmare

I have been using the Vodafone 1605 for 3 months. I am very happy with it....apart from activesync. I can sync wirelessly, but via a USB cable it was initially intermittent and now it just won't recognise the device.

I've just purchased TomTom Navigator and have a DVD that I can't load.

To sort this, I have installed Activesync 4.5 several times, repaired Outlook, added settings to the firewall to allow the USB to access etc. Now neither of my PCs recognise the device, not even as a guest.

I would really appreciate any help. I've followed the instructions online - but no succcess. I don't want to reset my PDA.

Thanks

Ed

Try

start - settings - connections tab

If theres an option for USB to PC
click that and then untick the check box for advanced network functionality.

I have installed Activesync 4.5 several times,
I had a similar problem with ActiveSync 4.5.

Start Activesync without your Device connected.

Go to File - Delete Mobile Device.

Go to File - Mobile Device and make sure none are shown.

Re-boot computer.

Connect Device and you should be able to sync again.

I've noticed since using 4.5 there is no guest feature.

The really annoying thing is, I can connect my sons device and it will sync OK but the next time I try to sync mine, it won't. I have to go through the above to get back to normal.
