Default help needed please medion mdppc 150

i have had a medion pocket pc now for a few weeks, all been working fine untill recently.
now it wont find any satelites and displays a message saying "no gps reciver detected""check settings and connections"
a friend of mine also has same model and i checked my settings against his, all the same,
when i go to settings>system and click onthe medion utility i get "open com port fail" message.
any ideas? eventually got through to medion, dreading the phon bill.
was told it would be £50 plus parts, anyone know what could be wrong and the cost of the replacement part?
anywhere else that fixes these?
cheers.

Not sure who else would do repairs on these. Is it not under warranty if you only had it a few weeks?
