Default Static Navigation & GPS utils

Hi everyone

I have a HP 5720 and running memory map software and I am amazed at how fast it locks on & starts tracking compared to my old 2210 & Navman 4100 mouse.

Now out walking with it & all seems ok, but I do get more spikes on the tracking than before and at times I do question the accuracy . I used to get the occasional spike but it was not to often, now it is more frequent.

Now I have tried several GPS utilities to take a look at the signals & see if I am receiving EGNOS etc but so far have not got any working.

Tried Crux view & GPS tweak but looking at several sites this could be down to windows mobile 5 OS as these apps worked fine on my 2210 & windows 2003 OS.

Any body recomend something that will work ?

Also there is a setting for static navigation in the Sirf 3 chipset that needs to be Off for walking and at the moment I don't know what it is so again any advice welcomed.

thanks Roy

According to this article

HP latest patch turns off static navigation. It also tells you how to disable it using sirf demo. As it warns on the site it is possible to misconfigure it and void your warrenty. Not sure if you've already tried this.
