Default TomTom Settings question..

Hi All..
I've had TomTom 3 and the correct car kit for my iPAQ 2210 for about a week now, and it still isn't working.

I've tried it with and without the various updates, i've tried leaving it for well over the 45 minutes that it says it may take to pick up the sat nav.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not totally sure what the GPS settings should be.. i've disabled all other apps using com1 (beam, keyboard, etc), but should it be set to COM1 or should it be set to iPAQ sleeve?

Help is much appreciated... this is driving me nuts!!

Cheers Stevie.. that's what I had assumed, but the thing has been sitting with a clear view of the sky for absolutely ages and it still says GPS position is unreliable.. beginning to wonder if I've got a dodgy car kit..

how annoying!

Do you get any dots going from left to right in the GPS status screen? Do you have a LED on the GPS and the car kit? Is it tom tom car kit or is carcomm?

It's the tomtom car kit, yes the GPS has a greed LED which flashes constantly.. the dots are not going from left to right, just sitting there.

On the GPS screen I have a slider with two settings, ones seems to be the TT logo and the other looks like "Zzz".. not sure if this is relevant but its set to the TT logo..

Might sound a real dumb question but do you also have the cigarette lighter power adaptor plugged in? I sat for hours looking at mine wondering why it wasnt working. Plugged the adaptor in and bingo. It needs the power to power the antenna (I think)

In TT pages I had to go to the GPS Status, and then click on GPS box. I then set up my settings box to NMEA0183v2 Bluetooth and Bluetooth serial port as required. I do have a Holux 230 but maybe your settings need aligning for your TT receiver?
