Linking GPs Receiver with PDA

I already have a Garmin Etrex GPS and am looking to buy a PDA that I can run SatNav on. Will the GPS and a PDA work together or will I have to buy a seperate GPS receiver to go with my PDA ( am surfing Ebay for a bargain) And if it works how do you do it!
