PPC 1940 Notes sync with Outlook

I can't get Notes to work on the IPaq 1940. They transferred from Outlook but lost all the categories, so I ended up with 150 note in no proper order. Also I can't create new notes, oropen th eones that are there. I have been a (very happy) Palm V user for years - I'm starting to regret going PPC as nothing seems to work intuitively. Any ideas?
