Unhappy An New To All This Please Help

HI ALL my first post here and hopefully not the last hello to everyone

i am going to dabble in the pda market i have never had one before but just got offered one which to me seems a silly price to refuse and i have always been thinking of getting one

anyways now dont laugh the pda is a toshiba e570 which runs pocket pc 2002

now i know nothing about this except it has the pocket word, excel, media player and other mini stuff you get on windows

what i want to know is the person i got it from had reset it but has the box and cd with it the stuff i am going to have to put on is obviously going to need updating but where do i get updates from

also

can you just put the normal windows media player on or is there a special ppc one
how do i update the ppc2002 software i see on net there is a update for it how do i get it to my pda

what kind of stuff can i put on it

IS THIS A DECENT PDA FOR A FIRST TIMER

I don't know about the rest but regarding the update, the manufacturers site should have something on it about downloading an update. You should have activesync software with it and this will download it from your desktop to your pocket PC. Be careful with the price you pay as this is an older model and new ones can be got for silly money nowadays.I would also check that the battery life is as expected and screen is functioning properly. These are expensive to replace, some screens are near the price of a complete unit. Make sure the applications you want a PDA for are supported by this unit or you might find yourself forking out for a new model that does the things you want, PDAs are addictive, you have been warned. This may seem like a lot but it's just normal to check these things when spending this sort of money on a secondhand unit. Find out a bit more by asking questions on here.

right basically i only really need it for adresses ,a few word docs do to with work play a few mp3 files and the odd game here and there and maybe connect to net via fone

i have spoken to the chap i am getting from regarding stuff

he assures me of the following and will give full refund if any different to what he says

screen is perfect condition no faults
battery has been used but if you play mp3 you will get roughly hour and half from it before charging

there is a very slight crack in the casing but does not affect operation of unit

comes with all original drivers case and box/manuel

he sent me pics and looks o.k

he only wanted 45 quid for it as he has just bought a new ipaq

so i dont think thats to unreasonable
