Unhappy PDA ActivSynch Connection Problem

I have recently ecountered a problem with when synching my Ipaq 2210 - when I engage the PDA in its cradle, it recognises the PDA correctly, for 2/3 secs, but then the PDA's ActivSynch drops the connection (although the ActivSynch on the desktop panel continues to say "Connecting", but does not). I have tried everything I can think of - any ideas?

In the meantime, does anyone know of an alternative means of backing up my PDA data as the last ActivSynch backup to my desktop was corrupted, leaving me at risk of effectively losing all my data? Thanks

Delete the partnership on the PC, and redo it. Will sort both issues.

Thanks very much, GS. As it happended, I tried agian this am and the PDSA remained connected! However, the ActivSynch panel now informs me that Calendar and Contacts synch scehdule is held on the PDA itself. It has synched everything but these 2 vital areas of data, still leaving me exposed to full data loss.
