XDA II vs PDA & phone

at the moment i've got a toshiba e800 but i was looking at maybe changing to an XDA because of the camera and phone
but i was wondering what using a bluetooth phone as a modem with the pocket pc is like
is it a lot of hastle or is it a one time set up ?

i could put a camera and a bluetooth card in for probably less money than it would cost to get an xda but i wanna know that it will work as well
