Default HP IPAQ 314 and Tomtom6 compatability

hi,

does anyone know if the ipaq 314 and tomtom6 are actually compatible, before I buy it. The info on the tomtom website is unclear, and doesn't say it is, but from experience it's a pretty useless website (for eg tomtom6 works on my nokia N93, even though it doesn't say anywhere on the website) - i'm going by the fact that windows mobile 6 is based on windows mobile 5 CE, and therefore should install with no issues?

And if it does, will it connect with the integrated GPS?

please help. Need to know because HP have a £30 cashback offer on!

Hi there

I have looked at the 314 as a possible replacement for my 5700 but for some reason Hp has installed windows CE 5 on the 314 which basicaly is firmware as far as I can tell.

So it is designed to run the software it comes with which can be updated with patches etc but as a user you cannot install software like tom tom or memory map which is what I wanted it for.

So you have a nice unit with 2 gig of memory & a 4.5 inch screen that is in my oppinion a total waste of time. A big step backwards for Hp & must have lost them many customers.

Anybody know of solutions or comments on this please.

This is correct its a strange decision by HP as we sold loads of 5700's and 5900's as they were both excellent specs.

At the moment the only PDA's with built in GPS that HP do are their PDA/phones like the 614 and 914.
