Default IPAQ 1940 and bluetooth tom tom

I have recently purchased an IPAQ 1940 + bluetooth tom tom. Everything works very well, except that there appears to be an error in that whenever I switch on the Ipaq it tries every 5 seconds to find a blue tooth connection - interrupting any other program that I try to use. I've tried a hard reset and reinstall, but the same problem occurs. Nothing seems to switch off the blue tooth from trying to connect. My current work round is to always switch on the Tom tom GPS so that the blue tooth connection can be made. Does anyone have a solution for this problem? I've asked Tom tom and their suggestion is to set the blue tooth to comm 5 - which it is!

Hi Martin,

Unfortunately, theres no great solution to your problem. What you will have to do is go into the GPS in Tomtom and change your settings to a serial port whenever you are not using the Sat Nav, and then change it back to Bluetooth when you are using Sat Nav. I know this is i bit of a pain, but its probably less annoying than what your currently experiencing.

Cheers

Default Tom Tom say its a known HP IPAQ problem

For your information, Tom Tom Support have written the following to me: "There appears to be a problem with the Bluetooth stack (HP 1910/2210) which causes this problem. We know about this problem and we are trying to see if we can develop a 'workaround' to fix it with a software update. Until that time please contact HP about this issue". Your solution is really rather unworkable for me - I can't get to the settings page without it trying to connect to bluetooth every few seconds!
