Unhappy Haicom and Toshiba

Having problems wih a Haicom HI204e to go with a Toshiba e740.
Cannot get the receiver to work with the PDA.Have followed instructions(as good as they are) but when attaching cable in car message comes up ' unidentified USB device, enter device driver name'. I'm at a loss now, have tried all sorts of combinations to load drivers and the Test program when loaded does not show Com1, which apparently the receiver should be using.
Anyone had similar problems or knows where i'm going wrong?

I am having the same problems although I have managed to get ride of the unidentified USB device message by formating the PDA (the switch on the bottom edge) then installing the driver first off. I have a copy of TomTom and am unable to set the GPS to Comm 1 therefor allowing TomTom to see it.

Cheers.

I had a similar problem with my Tosh and Haicom but I found a post on this site informing me of a special Toshiba 740e driver on the Haicom web site. After I downloaded and installed the driver it worked perfectly.
