Default Kane / Tom Tom 2 - Bluetooth

Hi,

Anyone got any experience of the Kane Bluetooth system against the Tom Tom 2. Kane seems a lot more expensive but want to know if the additional expense is worth it? Also with Bluetooth GPS systems do these need to be 'hard wired' into the car's electrical system or is there a wire from the ciggy lighter / PDA to it. If so surely its a waste of time going for Bluetooth if you still need a wire? Who would go for what?

You only need a cable going to the reciever to charge the battery.

Missioner,

The Kane Car Pilot Lux system is my choice. If you were to buy it with the iPAQ 3970 make sure you download the "Fix it Patch" from HP/Compaq otherwise you might hit some problems when reading maps you have loaded on to an SD card - no similar problems when using the supplied CF card.

Stevie GooGs says "You only need a cable going to the reciever to charge the battery.", not 100 correct, if you start a journey with both the iPAQ and the EMTAC Bluetooth GPS fully charged you can count on 6 hours running time (but carry the cigar lighter charger cable with you just in case).

I'm not giving the Kane system 10 out of 10, it does have some shortcomings but on the whole I like it.
