Default Ireland GPS Software

Hi
Does anyone know of any good software for Ireland North and South. I am a service engineer and travel all over Ireland. I use Laptop GPS and currently use Autoroute and Navigator. Does anyone use the recently released Mapsonic software for UK and Ireland. I would greatly appreciate any advice or comments.
Thanks in anticipation.

Personally, I prefer to use my PDA for gps navigation, so I'm not 100% sure what's available on the laptop side. I do use Mapsonic though, and I have to say it's brilliant... if you don't want to go outside Dublin.

It has street maps of Dublin, Belfast, Galway, Cork and Limerick and a few major roads. Northern Ireland consists of a street map of Belfast, the A1 and M1 roads... and that's it... all of it. You can't even use it as a route planner as it has feck all cities/towns and the vast majority of the ones it does have don't have any roads leading to them.

Don't get me wrong... I'm not knocking the software, which is probably the best I've seen yet, it's just that there simply aren't any decent maps of our technically challenged little country available for door to door navigation.

Having said that, there is a truly amazing map of Ireland shipped with TomTom Routeplanner, but that is only available for the PDA (as far as I know), and is strictly a town to town tool without voice guidance.
