Default installing Speed Camera Voice alerts

I have a hp 2410 with tomtom5 installed.

I want to install the ‘Free poi voice alerts’ from www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-poi-alerts.php.

1:Using a card reader, I renamed the data.chk file to old_data.chk

2: I downloaded the 5430_new.data.chk file and copied it to the sd card

3: I renamed the new file to ‘data.chk’

4: I installed the sd card into my pda and started tomtom

5 I disabled and re-enabled the poi’s but when I test the sound, There are no poi voice alerts just the same boring bells and beeps.

Can anyone tell me why I can’t get the voice alerts to work or what I have done wrong.

Thanks

Thanks Stevo, I'll check the link out.

I think the data.chk file that you need to replace is on your pda not the sdcard. Check the navigator folder on your pda to see if there is a file there.

ALSO, the same bells and beeps category still appears on the PDA - you have to select the relavent sound for the voice you want i.e. Beep 1 is Gatso, Beep 2 is Gatso 30 etc.

Thanks Mike142sl, your information was spot on, data.chk file was in navigator folder. exlplains why nothing changed when I tested sound.
Cheers.
