Default Problem installing additional maps on my Mitac

I have a Mitac 168 with an upgraded Tomtom 5 Navigator software.

I have somehow managed to install the application and the GB map, and it is working fine.

Unfortunately I want to add some of the European maps included in the upgrade but whenever I insert the relevent CD I get the "Not enough space in the Temporary Folder. Cannot run setup" mesage.

I have already deleted the setup.exe file as advised in previous posts, so when I go to it now it is not there, but I am still getting the message.

I have copied some of the map data to my storage card, in the hope they would be found by the Mitac but sadly when i go to change the map all it offers me is the GB one, no sign of the other 2 on the card.

Any ideas please how I may be able to resolve this problem.

For information I have a 2GB Kingston SD card.

Hi there, I had exactly the same problem and the attached solution from TomTom worked for me.

Good Luck.

Thanks Neil but I did that when I installed the application and GB map, but now I get the message when I try to install another map and the file setup.exe isn't there any more, yet I still get the "not enough free space message".

When I upgraded the SD Card on my 168, the maximum recommended size was 1GB.

From the Mio site.

What is the maximum SD-memory card size that Mio168 supports and which brands/types are tested?

SD/MMC Cards successfully tested with the Mio168:32Mb, 64Mb, 128Mb, 256Mb, 512Mb - KINGMAX, DANE-ELEC, EXTREMEMORY, INTEGRAL, SANDISK VIKING1GB - KINGMAX, DANE-ELEC, EXTREMEMORY, INTEGRAL and SANDISK.
2GB - KINGMAX and APACER.

Most card manufacturers have a compatibily list, it is recommended to visit the web site of the card manufacturer.

Can the Mio168 handle high speed cards and what is the maximum speed?
The internal SD-card bus can handle speeds up to 20Mbps. This is equal to 133X card speed. However, it is recomended to test before you buy it.
