Default Installing Extra Maps

Hi I have recently purchased the Nav 6 V of american & canada maps for my tomtom nav.

I'm currently running Nav 6 GB, I have room on the SD card for the new maps it unpacks ok but wont install past 7% stating that there was an error writing to the SD card.

Any ideas?

Are you loading via a reader or through your device?

If through device, ensure it's connected to a USB2 socket, and definately NOT through a USB hub.

I'm trying to load the software on to my PDA via the TomTom home, the lead is connected to the USB port on the computer, I've checked the space so I know there is enough space on the memory card.

It's all a bit strange.

I would just copy them straight over onto the card through a card reader, leave tomtom home out of it all together. There should be an option to extract the map to your hard drive in the setup then copy from there to the card.

TomTom has taken that option away.
