Cool Voice Loss

My first time on the forum, here goes. Purchased refurb 720 from total PDA, had it approx 3 weeks and I've lost the voices, directional & warning. Assessed all settings looking for user error but even selecting another voice and applying test there is still no voice. Apart from returning the unit to have the refurb, refurbed has anybody any solutions ?

1/ Try pressing the reset button on the underside of the device then see if it works. (doing this you will lose no data at all)

2/ If step one failed try change preferences/ Restore facory settings, its on page 8 of the change preferences options. (doing this you will lose your Home location and favorites/ POI Warning setups, but it can all be re-entered)

3/ If step two failed re-install that all important backup you made when you first got the device - you did make a backup when the device was new?

there are other options you can try before returing the device, but try the above and see how you get on, if these don't work shout for some additional help - Mike

Hi,

I've just bought a 530 and have the same problem, I tried reseting which made no difference, however I think I now know what causes the problem, when the battery gets low the voice cuts out and comes back when charging or fully charged. Is this normal?

Thanks

Low Battery levels are known to cause issues with the sound output from the device, there is a car charger lead supplied with the device that is intended to be used, the battery should only be seen as suitable for short duration use such as looking up a route at home or setting the device up. In use when in the car keep it plugged in - Mike
