Default TT GO 940 Live: FM transmitter not working

I have a new Tom Tom Go 940 Live. One of the reasons for buying this very delux model was the FM transmitter feature which allows the voice instructions to be heard over your car's FM radio.

I have tuned the radio to a FM frequency that is not being used (although in my area it's hard to find a place on the FM band where nothing is being transmitted), and then select the same frequency in my G0 940. When I press the done button, I am able to hear the drums and music that the 940 is sending out over the car's speakers, but I never heard the actual voice instructions. So what am I missing here?

Thanks

What version of software is installed, you can find this by tapping the sat strength meter lower right followed by the version box, the resultant screen will give you lots of information about the device, reply with the Navcore Version number.

When Nav Voices are selected to be via FM Tx you must have the mp3 player active playing something otherwise the device defaults back to using one of the other outputs. It is possible to overcome this limitation by adding a silent mp3 track to the mp3 folder and selecting that to loop endllessly, this fools the device into thinking its playing music and therefore lets the nav voice go via the FM Tx. This restriction on the use of the FM Tx was due to European guidelines making it against policy to transmit dead time for more than 30 seconds, a silent mp3 track is one way to overcome the issue and you will never get caught as the power it transmits is very low - Mike

The software version appears to be 8.351. I have this mp3 file "Silence is Golden". I just find it strange that you have to be playing music or some kind of mp3 file in order to take advantage of receiving navigation instructions via your FM radio.

THANKS LOADS FOR THE REPLY!!!

I gave the advice below a try, but unfortunately I still am not able to get the instructions to play over the car's FM radio. I am able to hear an mp3 song broadcast from the Tom Tom over the car's FM radio. Just not the instructions. So what is going on here???

Provided that the car MP3 player fm tranmitter set the frequency must not conflict with your local car radio station, set a relatively rare look at the frequency of search search.
good luck~~
